O Agente Secreto estreia nos cinemas brasileiros em 06 de novembro, mas a imprensa internacional já está de olho no longa que pretende representar o Oscar 2026. Na crítica, o filme conquistou o selo Fresh no Rotten Tomatoes, que publica regularmente as avaliações das obras populares no momento. A produção passou pelo crivo de jornalistas, recebendo elogios e ressaltando sua originalidade.
A Academia Brasileira de Cinema considerou O Agente Secreto como ideal para representar o Brasil no Oscar do próximo ano. Além disso, o filme recebeu o prêmio de Melhor Direção e Melhor Ator no Festival de Cannes. A mídia norte americana acredita que ele também poderá concorrer nas categorias de Melhor Filme Internacional, Roteiro Original, Direção e Ator.
O filme se passa nos anos 70 em meio a ditadura militar. Marcelo (Wagner Moura), vive um pai e professor universitário que foge de um grupo de assassinos e viaja até o Recife para procurar pelo filho que sumiu Nos Estados Unidos, a produção chega aos cinemas em 26 de novembro. O Agente Secreto contou com evento de pré-estreia, e cerca de 24.850 de telespectadores já assistiram à obra antes de sua exibição oficial.
